UniWord
Terms & Conditions
Effective Date: August 5, 2026
Last Updated: October 14, 2026
Welcome to UniWord.
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the UniWord mobile application, the UniWord website (including https://capstab.com/uniword), and related services (collectively, the “Service”) provided by Multi_Software (“we,” “our,” or “us”).
By downloading, installing, accessing, creating an account, signing in, using Guest Mode, making a purchase, or otherwise using UniWord, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use UniWord.
Your use of UniWord is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review it carefully.
1. About UniWord
UniWord is a language-learning application designed to help users:
- Learn and review vocabulary
- Study grammar
- Read catalog articles and stories
- Add their own reading texts for personal study
- Use translation, OCR, and related learning tools
- Track learning progress, goals, and streaks
- Optionally use account-based features such as sync, backup, and restore
UniWord may be used in Guest Mode without signing in. Signing in with Google is recommended if you want to save, synchronize, or restore supported learning data across devices.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum legal age required in your country, to use UniWord.
If you are under the required age, you may use UniWord only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
By using UniWord, you represent that you meet the applicable age requirements and have the legal capacity to agree to these Terms.
3. Accounts and Guest Mode
A. Guest Mode
You may use UniWord without signing in.
In Guest Mode:
- Learning progress, custom word lists, and user-added reading texts may be stored only on your device
- That data may not be recoverable if the app is uninstalled, app data is cleared, the device is reset, lost, damaged, or replaced
- Guest Mode learning data is not linked to a UniWord cloud account unless you later sign in and synchronize supported data
- Limited analytics and diagnostics may still be collected as described in the Privacy Policy
B. Signed-In Accounts
Some features work better, or may require, signing in with a supported provider such as Google.
Signing in helps you:
- Save learning progress
- Synchronize supported learning data, including custom word lists and user-added reading content
- Restore supported data across devices
- Access account-based features
- Keep UniWord Pro entitlements linked to your account where applicable
Authentication may be handled by Google and Supabase.
C. Your Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining access to your Google account and UniWord account
- Keeping your account information accurate
- All activity that occurs through your account
- Securing your device and login credentials
- The content you type, paste, scan, speak, or otherwise submit to UniWord
You must not:
- Impersonate another person
- Use another person’s account without authorization
- Create accounts for abusive, fraudulent, or misleading purposes
Signing out may remove or disconnect local progress on that device. Signing out alone does not automatically delete previously synchronized cloud data. If you want eligible cloud data permanently deleted, use Delete account in the app, or submit an account-deletion request as described in Section 8.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use UniWord only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
You agree that you will not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the app, servers, systems, accounts, or networks
- Interfere with or disrupt the security, stability, availability, or performance of the Service
- Use UniWord for spam, abuse, harassment, fraud, or other unlawful activity
- Copy, scrape, reproduce, redistribute, or misuse app content in a way that harms UniWord, Multi_Software, or its users
- Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or exploit the app except as expressly permitted by applicable law
- Circumvent free-tier limits, subscription gates, paywalls, trials, AI usage limits, or payment systems
- Misrepresent purchases, restores, entitlements, or account status
- Submit malware, or attempt to probe, overload, or reverse-engineer our AI, sync, or analytics systems
- Use UniWord in any way that violates applicable law or regulation
We may investigate suspected violations and take appropriate action, including restricting or terminating access.
5. User-Added Content
UniWord lets you add your own learning materials, which may include custom word lists, notes, titles, and reading texts that you type, paste, scan with OCR, or enter by voice (“User Content”).
A. Ownership
You retain ownership of your User Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your User Content to us.
B. License You Grant Us
By submitting User Content, you grant Multi_Software a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, transmit, translate, back up, synchronize, restore, and display that User Content solely as needed to operate and provide the Service to you. This includes:
- Storing User Content locally on your device
- If you are signed in, storing and synchronizing User Content in our cloud backend
- Sending relevant text (and, where a feature requires it, limited surrounding context or an image) to third-party AI providers to generate translations, titles, categories, difficulty labels, glossaries, or example sentences you request
We do not claim the right to sell your User Content, publish it to other users as our catalog content, or use it for advertising.
C. Your Promises About User Content
You represent and warrant that:
- You have the right to submit the User Content
- Your User Content does not infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any third party
- Your User Content is not illegal, defamatory, hateful, sexually exploitative, or otherwise prohibited
- You will not submit passwords, financial account numbers, government ID numbers, health records, or other highly sensitive personal information as User Content
You are solely responsible for User Content. UniWord is a personal study tool. Do not paste books, news articles, or other material that you do not have the right to use.
D. Our Handling of User Content
We may refuse, remove, or disable User Content if we reasonably believe it violates these Terms, creates security or legal risk, or exceeds technical limits.
We do not guarantee that User Content will remain available in every circumstance. Keep your own copies of important material.
6. Learning Progress, Analytics, and AI Features
UniWord may store learning progress, preferences, settings, User Content, and related usage data:
- Locally on your device
- In your UniWord cloud account, if you are signed in and synchronization is enabled
You understand that:
- Some features depend on device compatibility, account status, internet access, or third-party services
- Sync, backup, and restore features may occasionally be delayed, interrupted, incomplete, or unavailable
- Guest Mode learning data may not be recoverable after uninstalling the app, clearing app data, or changing devices
- You are responsible for reviewing your account choices, device settings, and backup options
We do not guarantee that all learning progress or User Content will always be preserved in every circumstance.
A. Analytics and Diagnostics
UniWord uses analytics and diagnostics tools so we can operate and improve the Service, including:
- PostHog for product-analytics events (such as onboarding and feature usage)
- Google Firebase Analytics for automatic metrics such as installs, sessions, and approximate country or region
- Google Firebase Crashlytics for crash and stability reports
Analytics and diagnostics may occur in Guest Mode and when you are signed in. Details, including Advertising ID use for measurement, are in the Privacy Policy.
We do not use these tools for targeted or cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not sell analytics data.
B. AI Translation and Enrichment
Certain features send text you submit to our servers and then to third-party AI providers (currently including OpenRouter, and models such as Google Gemini or OpenAI) to generate translations, glossaries, or example sentences.
You understand that:
- AI output may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or inappropriate
- AI features may be rate-limited, unavailable, or changed
- Text you submit for AI processing is handled as described in the Privacy Policy
- You should not rely on AI output as professional translation, legal advice, or certified educational assessment
7. Free Tier and UniWord Pro
UniWord offers a free tier and an optional paid subscription called UniWord Pro.
A. Free Tier
The free tier may include limited features such as:
- Limited daily word learning
- Limited translate, OCR, and AI reading-assistance usage
- Access to a subset of articles and stories
- Free Foundations grammar modules
- Basic learning progress tracking
- The ability to add a limited amount of personal reading or vocabulary content, subject to in-app limits
Free-tier limits, available content, and included features may change over time.
B. UniWord Pro
UniWord Pro may unlock premium features such as:
- Learning beyond the free daily limit
- Full access to catalog articles and stories
- Higher or unlimited translate, OCR, and AI reading-assistance usage, as shown in the app
- Full grammar modules beyond free Foundations lessons
- Streak repair or related premium streak features, where available
- Other premium features shown in the app
The exact features included in UniWord Pro may change as the product evolves. Current feature availability is shown in the app.
C. Plans and Pricing
UniWord Pro may be offered through weekly, monthly, yearly, or other plans made available through Google Play.
Prices, currencies, taxes, billing periods, and available offers may vary by country, account eligibility, and Google Play settings.
All applicable prices and offer terms are displayed before purchase.
D. Free Trial
Where offered, the yearly UniWord Pro plan may include a 3-day free trial.
Trial availability depends on Google Play eligibility rules and may not be available to every user or in every region.
If you start a free trial:
- You will not be charged during the trial period
- After the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid subscription at the then-displayed price unless cancelled before the trial ends
- You can manage or cancel the subscription through Google Play
Trial terms and post-trial pricing are shown in the app and in the Google Play purchase screen.
E. Billing, Renewal, Cancellation, and Refunds
UniWord Pro subscriptions are sold through Google Play.
Google Play handles:
- Payment processing
- Free-trial eligibility
- Subscription activation
- Automatic renewal
- Cancellations
- Billing issues
- Refunds
Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled through Google Play before the renewal date.
You can manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play subscription settings.
Cancelling a subscription generally prevents future renewal but does not automatically refund prior charges. Refund eligibility is determined by Google Play and applicable law.
We do not collect or store your full payment card details.
F. Restore Purchases and Entitlements
You may restore previous purchases from within the app.
Subscription entitlement status may take a short time to update after purchase, restore, plan change, or account sign-in.
RevenueCat may be used to verify subscription status and manage entitlements. Entitlements may be linked to your UniWord account when you are signed in.
If a purchase does not appear immediately, try Restore purchases, check your Google Play account, confirm internet connectivity, and reopen the app.
8. Account Deletion Requests
You may request permanent deletion of your UniWord account and eligible account-linked cloud data at any time.
How to Request Deletion
In the UniWord app (recommended):
- Open the Profile tab.
- Expand the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm the deletion.
When you delete your account from within the app while signed in, UniWord deletes your UniWord account and eligible synchronized cloud learning data (including custom word lists and user-added reading content stored in our cloud backend), then clears related local progress on that device. Associated analytics and diagnostics records are handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Outside the app (web / email):
If you have uninstalled UniWord, or cannot use the in-app option, you may submit a deletion request through:
- Email: support@capstab.com
- Support page: https://capstab.com/uniword/support
Where possible, send the request from the email address associated with your UniWord account. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request submitted by email or form.
Processing Time
- In-app deletion: Eligible account and cloud data are generally deleted promptly after you confirm deletion in the app, subject to normal network and server processing time.
- Email or support-form requests: After receiving and verifying a valid request, we aim to process account deletion within 24 to 48 hours. Complex or legally regulated requests may require additional time.
Important Notes
- Guest Mode data stored locally on your device can usually be removed by clearing the app’s data or uninstalling the app.
- Deleting your UniWord account does not automatically cancel an active Google Play subscription. You must manage or cancel subscriptions through Google Play → Subscriptions.
- Signing out is not the same as account deletion. Signing out alone does not permanently delete previously synchronized cloud data.
- Account deletion is processed in accordance with applicable law and our Privacy Policy.
- Some records held by Google Play, RevenueCat, analytics providers (including PostHog and Google Firebase), or AI providers may remain according to their own legal or operational requirements, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Privacy
Your use of UniWord is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
By using UniWord, you acknowledge that you have reviewed, or had a reasonable opportunity to review, our Privacy Policy.
10. Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in UniWord, including its branding, name, design, software, user interface, features, text, graphics, vocabulary content, stories, articles, grammar lessons, illustrations, and other materials, remain the property of UniWord, Multi_Software, or their licensors.
Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not:
- Copy
- Modify
- Distribute
- Reverse engineer
- Republish

any part of the Service.
Your personal learning progress and User Content remain subject to these Terms and applicable law. The limited license you grant us in Section 5 is only what we need to operate sync, backup, restore, AI processing, and related account features. It does not transfer ownership of your personal learning data to us.
Catalog lessons, articles, stories, and other UniWord-provided learning materials are licensed to you only for personal, non-commercial use inside the app.

We do not guarantee that UniWord will always be:
- Available

- Compatible with every device, OS version, language pack, or region
Features, free-tier limits, Pro benefits, AI availability, content availability, and pricing may change over time.
13. Account Restriction or Termination
We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to UniWord if we reasonably believe that:
- You have violated these Terms
- Your use creates security, legal, or operational risk
- Your activity harms the app, systems, content, or other users
- You misuse accounts, User Content, AI features, sync, backup, restore, subscriptions, trials, or payment systems
- Continued access would violate law or third-party platform requirements

14. Educational Disclaimer
UniWord is designed to support language learning and practice.
We do not guarantee:
- Specific learning outcomes
- Fluency
- Exam scores
- Academic results
- Professional language competence

- The amount you paid to us for UniWord Pro through Google Play in the 12 months before the claim, or
- USD $50
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
17. Indemnification
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Multi_Software and its affiliates, officers, employees, and service providers from and against claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses arising out of or related to:
- Your misuse of UniWord
- Your User Content
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of applicable law
- Your infringement of another person’s rights

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required.
Your continued use of UniWord after updated Terms become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using UniWord.
19. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country provide otherwise.
